Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.
Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.

Metella Road Public School stands proudly on Darug land. A meeting place by the waters that always was and will always be traditional Aboriginal land. Thank you to the Elders past, present and emerging for caring for Country and allowing us to unite together on this land where we work, learn and play. We promise to care for Country, sky, plants and each other. We cherish the lizards, cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets, and will care for the gum trees so they can spread their branches to protect the land for future generations. Together we acknowledge and respect the deep spiritual connection and valuable history of this land and know that where we learn is a sacred place.
